Create Your Journey
“There will be a time when you will understand All That Is and all that you are, and until that day it is your opportunity to explore the pieces of All That Is that are most appealing to you. We are giving you this now because there is much more available to you than ever before, and because we want you to know that the purpose of your life is to explore. And specifically, it is to explore that which interests YOU the most.
There is no one right way. There is no one true path, even for yourself, in any one year, in any one month, and in any one day. There is no right way to go about living. And there is always the opportunity to change one’s mind and to go off and explore in another direction. We want you to know that this does not mean that you are scattered and that you have no discipline, and that you cannot finish things that you start. It means that you are exploring many different aspects of All That Is, and of yourself as an aspect of All That Is.
So just because you don’t have a career that spans twenty or thirty or forty or fifty years, does not mean that you’re doing something wrong or that you haven’t found your life purpose. It simply means that you are a curious individual and that you are willing to choose in every moment of every day what it is that you are feeling drawn towards. We would like to give you the permission to have a very unique life that takes you in many different directions, perhaps even all at once.
We do not see you maintaining this idea of the 40-hour work week, the 5-day work week, the 50-week a year work year. We see you expanding your idea of what work is, and we also want you to have as many interests going at one time as you can handle. This universe is vast and complex. There are many different ways knowing it and knowing yourselves within it. And you are not here to find the one right way, or the one right way for you and dig yourselves in. You are here to break new ground, and when you are breaking new ground, there is no blueprint necessary for how to go about that. That is why it is new.
Allow yourselves the freedom to be sloppy and to put as many holes in the ground as possible before you get yourselves involved in something that will keep you occupied for any amount of time. Take chances and throw things up against the wall to see what sticks. Be pioneers. Be reckless. Be adventurous. And always remember that the important thing in the equation of what it is that you do is the fact that you are the one doing it. It is not the thing. You can do anything, and you can make it your own.
And as you put your stamp on what it is you do and your stamp on this world, you will find that you will have an easier time than anyone who is allowing themselves to follow a path that is already well-trodden. So enjoy the journey, but by all means, create the journey first.”
