Channeling Ophelia – On Approval

“Pleasing others is something that you have all attempted to do. It is a game that you play where you place importance upon what others think and feel about what you are doing, and then you attempt get their approval. This leads you to feeling very hollow inside, because the more time that you spend and the more attention that you give to that which is outside of you, the more that inner self atrophies.

Of course, that portion of your being will never go away. It will never die. But you can dim the light when you have so much of your energy going outwards. This is why so many of us are asking you to go within. Going within does not mean that you must channel, or see beautiful images in your mind’s eye, or feel ripples of ecstatic energy flowing through you.

We are all simply encouraging you to put your attention there. And when you do, you may not like what is there. You may not want to feel it. You may turn your attention back to the outer world and to make more feeble attempts at getting from others that which you can only get from the inner journey. Many of you have learned this throughout experiences that you have had.

You have become wise to the fact that you cannot please all of them, and you cannot even please a single one of them all of the time. So you must give that up. You must give it up if you are ever to live happily, joyously. And you must give it up if you are ever going to create consciously, because all of the tools for creating consciously are inside of you. All of the approval that you could ever need, you can give yourself in a split second. You can have everything that you have ever wanted from anyone else.

I like to give my approval freely. I never wish to build someone up, however. That is not why I give my approval. That is not why any of us love and support you. We are not hoping to give you any sort of external validation. We just do it because we love and because we support.

We ask that you do the same for yourselves. Do not do this for yourselves because you see how much you desperately need to be approved of and supported and loved. Do it because it is something that flows freely through you when you allow it, when you allow yourselves to be who you really are. And you will seek to give approval because you will love that feeling of the flow, as the energy nurtures both you and those whom you praise.
