“It is I, Quan Yin.
In your discovery of a desire within you, there is often the belief attached to it that immediately follows. You give as much, if not more, of your attention to the belief as you do to the desire itself. What if, instead, you continued to remain focused on the desire? What if you ignored the tendency to entertain your belief about it?
This would serve you, no matter what that belief happened to be. The desire summons more lifeforce through you than even the most positive belief about it could. I am not suggesting that you spend all of your time focusing on desires that are unfulfilled in your experience.
But I am suggesting that when you are aware of a desire within you that you release that attachment to the belief that immediately follows your awareness of your desire. Let the desire itself guide you. Let the desire fill you with that lifeforce energy that it summons forth, and then let yourself be moved in the most appropriate direction.
When you have no belief, then you do not question whether or not you are moving in the right direction. It does not matter in fact, because you are simply caught up in the energy of the desire itself. You are more interested in feeling the flow than you are in the fulfillment.
Fulfillment itself implies a finish line. It implies that once you align with your desire that you are somehow going to stop in your motion forward. But the desire itself will bring with it seedlings that will plant new desires within you, and they will keep you moving forward on your path, keep you expanding into more of who you are.
I am Quan Yin, and I hold you in my heart.”
