Witnessing Yourself
“When the emergence of your personality is in the primary stages, you take on many of the characteristics, traits, tendencies, and so on, of your parents, guardians, siblings, whoever is closest to you at that time. You are in many ways morphing yourself to fit in with the frequency of the beings who you are closest to. It is somewhat of a survival mechanism for you. You all have done this. Some have taken to the process more readily and easily than others, and that is something you decide upon before you incarnate.
So as you move through your life and you witness yourself, you notice yourself, you are aware of yourself and how you interact with others, how you interact with your world, how you interact with yourself. You tend to believe that that is who you are – the being that you witness is the person that you are, the being that you are. And sometimes you wish to change who you are because certain aspects of yourself are not working out for you in the way that you would hope.
So you then take on the path of self-improvement, some of you go to therapy, some of you do it yourself, some of you visit less conventional types of healers and guides. But all of you are seeking to remove some of that programming that took place at a young, young age. Others are just fine with themselves the way they are, and that is perfectly lovely and a wonderful way to experience yourself in the world.
But many of you are the ones who came to be change-makers, to build bridges between the old and the new, and so you are seeking out the new version of yourself. But it is not so complicated as all that. You don’t have to become something that you are not at this time. You just have to recognize that the being that notices is the being that you are. The being that is aware of what it is you are doing, what it is you have done, the patterns, the traits, the characteristics that you have demonstrated in this lifetime, that is the real, awakened you.
So you don’t have to change into anything to become that being, you just need to decide that that is who you are and everything else that you have been has been a mask, an illusion, a character that you were playing. And to release yourself from your attachment to that being is mostly what you are doing at this time. So when you catch yourself saying, ‘I always’ or ‘I tend to,’ any type of statement that is linking yourself to something that you were or something that you did is not serving you anymore.
But as the witnesser you can see that there really is no attachment and there is no link between you and those versions of yourself that you have played out. It is not so that people don’t change, it is not so that it is difficult to change, it is not so that you are doomed by your genes and your family history to play out whatever it is that your parents and grandparents and great grandparents did. All of that is just what we would call a story, and you are here to write your own story, to write a new story, and to be whatever character you want to be within that story. So get creative, have fun, and realize that you are all already who you want to be.”
