The Perspectives of Your Parents – The Founders
“Blessings.
It stands to reason that many of you will have taken on a perspective that is similar to the one that your parents held. You do not need to understand whether that is caused by nature or nurture because the cause is irrelevant. The fact is you chose to have those parents to offer you that perspective, and you knew that there was a likelihood that you would adopt it for yourself.
Now, once you have become aware that you have adopted a perspective and that now it has become like an unconscious program that runs within you, that is when you have the opportunity to choose something else, to choose a new perspective. This does not mean that you must reject or forsake your parents and their perspectives in order to choose your own.
In fact, any judgments that you carry about the perspective that has been handed down from one generation to the next will only keep you attached to it in some way. Even if you were to abandon the perspective altogether, you would find that a loved one would adopt it to keep it active in your awareness. Until you are able to make peace with the perspectives of your parents and grant them permission to hold those perspectives, they will continue to manifest themselves in your experience.
So when you choose a new perspective for yourself, be sure that you are not doing so defiantly. Be sure that you are embracing your parents and their perspectives and seeing all perspectives as valid and serving you in some way. Then and only then will you have the freedom to explore a new and different perspective for yourself.
And what you will notice is that when you have released your resistance to your parents and their perspective, they will no longer need to hold it and they too can be free to choose a new perspective, to choose a new way of experiencing reality. That is a gift that you can give to your parents, but you will not make any progress by simply telling them to choose a new perspective. You are all here to live your lives freely and to allow others to do the same.
We are The Founders. We are keepers of the flame.”
